Woohoo! Made my first sale! This Peter Cottontail tea cup by James Kent is stunning with a detailed illustration of a scenic meadow of blue birds, butterflies, and of course bunny rabbits.
I couldn't resist the urge to embellish on the packaging! I repurposed a cardboard box leftover from husband's Nixon camera lens, which had the perfect sized cushioning to insert the teacup wrapped in navy blue tissue paper. I then followed up by stuffing in some packaging straw, and, to top it off, a free sample of my shop's Shakespeare Tea blend.
On the exterior of the box is where all the embellishments went. The gold hued box needed coverage of Nikon labels; so I decided to paint it with brown acrylic paint. This certainly did not look flattering; so I attached flyers (with decorative tap) of my shop and information about what was inside: "Free Sample of Shakespeare Tea Inside!" With a thank you note on top flap and sealed with a wax stamping, all in all, I am pretty satisfied with the presentation of this package; I hope the receiver feels the same when she gets it.
PS. No, it would certainly be impossible to mail a package like this. I finish off the packaging by gift wrapping the entire box with sturdy Whole Foods brown paper grocery bag, card stock with shipping info., and clear post office tap.

Congratulations on you FIRST SALE!!! I love your recycled packaging ideas! So beautiful...I adore the rose red wax seal and all of your lovely embellishments (decorative tape, colored shop advertisements, etc.); absolutely ravishing! It is also great that you added that you wrapped a recycled brown paper bag around the entire embellished package along with applying a shipping label for it to be ready for sending out. ;-)
